SAMBA, NOVEMBER 23: The Road Safety club of Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur on Saturday organised an awareness campaign on road safety as part of the Road Safety Week here under the able guidance of the Principal Dr. Vandana Verma.
The campaign sought to educate students, local communities and the general public about the importance of road safety and responsible driving practices.
The campaign kicked off with a vibrant inauguration ceremony held at college premises. Students of the College actively participated in the campaign. The campaign aims not only to educate participants but also to foster a culture of safety and responsibility among the youth who represent the future of our communities. As future drivers and influence makers, equipping them with the right knowledge and practices can lead to a significant reduction in road mishaps.
Program started with the welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Road Safety Club) where she briefed students about the objective of the campaign and further said that the Road Safety Club is dedicated to raise awareness about road safety issues in our community.
She further said that it is our responsibility to prepare the next generation to be not only skilled drivers but also cautious and conscientious road users.
The awareness campaign was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Road Safety Club), Dr. Naseem Chowdhary and Prof. Meetu Sharma under the guidance of Senior faculty members Prof. Anita Jamwal , Prof. Mamta Gupta, Dr. Anoop Bhagat and Prof. Ritu Bhagat. and co-coordinated by Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo, Prof. Ragini Gupta, Prof. Pooja Devi, Prof. Sana Farooq (Members of Road Safety Club).
