Today’s government is very serious about uplifting the lives of persons with disabilities. Whether it is related to their empowerment, education or employability. We have various schemes to help them achieve these and lead a better life, said an official in Baramulla. We want to create a disabled-friendly environment for them, said officials. My brother-in-law is handicapped. So we are very happy that he has been given a scooty by the government so that he can freely move about. We are very grateful for this gesture said care givers in Baramulla. Disabled people said they faced difficulty while moving out of the house. No vehicle would agree to carry them. The scooty will help them reach their work places safely. This initiative of self-help provided to the disabled in Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir was appreciated very much.
