DDC Kulgam reviews physical and financial progress under district capex 2024-25

Kulgam, January 20: District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, chaired a review meeting to assess the physical and financial progress under the District Capex Plan for 2024-25. The meeting was aimed at evaluating the status of ongoing projects and ensuring timely and efficient completion of works.

It was reported that out of the 2,600 approved projects for the year, 1,500 have been physically completed by the end of December. The DDC conducted a comprehensive review of the progress made across various departments, including Rural Development Department , Health, Education, Roads & Buildings , Power Development Department , Public Health Engineering , and Agriculture and Allied Departments.

In the RDD sector alone, 1,220 works were initiated, with 920 already completed by December. This marked a significant achievement in the execution of the district’s development agenda.

The DDC urged the concerned executing agencies to expedite the remaining works and ensure that they are completed at the earliest. He emphasised that all ongoing projects should adhere to quality standards to achieve the desired outcomes. “The focus should be on the timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of quality,” said DDC Khan.

Addressing the seasonal constraints, the DDC stressed the importance of utilising the current working season effectively to complete projects on schedule and ensure the full utilisation of allocated funds. He warned against any delays that could lead to rushed treasury billing at the end of the financial year. He further urged officers to put in maximum effort to ensure that funds under various schemes are optimally used, avoiding any unspent amounts that could result in funds being surrendered.

The DDC also urged all officers to redouble their efforts in the coming weeks to achieve the desired targets by the end of February, ensuring that all works are completed on time and with the best possible outcomes.
