J&K and Ladakh police contingent felicitated at Lakhanpur after Ekta Diwas Rally

Lakhanpur , November 6,2026– A joint motorcycle contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Ladakh Police received a warm and enthusiastic welcome at Lakhanpur upon returning from Gujarat after successfully participating in the Ekta Diwas Motorcycle Rally, organised to promote national unity, solidarity and the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

The returning contingent was welcomed by police personnel and officials at Lakhanpur, marking a proud moment for the participating riders who represented Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in an initiative dedicated to strengthening national integration and spreading the message of unity across the country.

The motorcycle rally formed part of the nationwide celebrations associated with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, observed every year on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. Known for his pivotal role in the political integration of the country after Independence, Sardar Patel is remembered as the Iron Man of India.

Through their participation, the joint contingent highlighted the importance of national cohesion, mutual understanding and the collective responsibility of citizens towards building a stronger and more united India.

The journey from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to Gujarat symbolised the spirit of togetherness, demonstrating how people from different regions can come together with a shared commitment to national values. The rally also provided an opportunity to showcase the discipline, dedication and public-service commitment of police personnel.

On the occasion, Commandant 19 JKAP IR Atul Sharma felicitated the participants and appreciated their dedication, enthusiasm and contribution to the successful completion of the rally. He recognised their efforts in representing the region and carrying forward the important message of national unity and social responsibility.

While appreciating the riders, Atul Sharma highlighted the significance of initiatives that bring people together beyond geographical and cultural boundaries. He acknowledged that such programmes strengthen the bond between different regions and encourage a sense of shared identity, patriotism and collective responsibility.

An important aspect of the contingent’s participation was also its association with the message of a drug-free society. The initiative highlighted the need to create awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse, particularly among young people, and encouraged communities to work collectively towards protecting the future of the younger generation.

The message of a drug-free India remains closely connected with the broader vision of a healthy, progressive and empowered society. Police personnel, through their public outreach activities, continue to play an important role in encouraging youth participation, promoting positive activities and spreading awareness about the dangers of drug addiction.

The motorcycle rally served as a platform to communicate these messages while strengthening the connection between law enforcement agencies and the public. It also reflected the importance of cooperation between Jammu and Kashmir Police and Ladakh Police in promoting shared national objectives.

The warm reception at Lakhanpur reflected the appreciation and pride associated with the contingent’s participation in the national-level event. The felicitation ceremony further recognised the efforts of the riders, whose journey carried messages of patriotism, unity, discipline and social awareness.

The Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat initiative seeks to strengthen emotional bonds among people belonging to different states and Union Territories by promoting cultural exchange, mutual understanding and national integration. Events such as the Ekta Diwas Motorcycle Rally provide an opportunity to translate these ideals into meaningful public participation.

The return of the joint J&K Police and Ladakh Police contingent from Gujarat stands as a reminder that national unity is strengthened through collective efforts, responsible citizenship and active participation in social causes.

By combining the message of national integration with the campaign for a drug-free society, the contingent reaffirmed its commitment to the values of unity, service and a brighter future for the country.
