DC Shopian visits several areas; Takes stock of restoration of essential services

SHOPIAN, FEBRUARY 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today visited various areas of the district including Gagran, Shirmal, Keller to take stock of snow clearance, availability and restoration of essential services.
On the occasion, DC was apprised that all the men and machinery have been mobilized early morning to clear all major and link roads of snow and restore power.
The DC took stock of snow clearance being undertaken by MED, PMGSY, R&B and MC, and instructed for making road accessible for traffic.
While visiting DTs Workshop at Gagren, he also directed KPDCL to ensure lifting of damaged DTs and ensure repairs as per timelines and keep buffer stock available for use. He also instructed to restore feeders facing fault immediately for providing uninterrupted power supply to the people as per schedule.
He visited the Shirmal area and took stock of services and snow clearance and interacted with MED staff and asked for immediate snow clearance of all roads. He called upon putting all efforts to ensure speedy snow clearance and prompt response to the public grievances.
The DC was informed by concerned that KPDCL, MED and other departments are working in mission mode for restoration of power supply and roads.
The DC said that various essential commodities including ration, LPG etc were stocked well in advance in far flung and remote areas so that people living in such areas may not face any inconveniences.
At Keller, the DC made inspection of Sub-District Hospital Keller, where he interacted with the patients and attendants, enquired about the treatment being provided to them.
Emphasizing better healthcare facilities are provided to the general public at Sub-District Hospital Keller, the DC directed concerned to ensure all doctors and paramedical staff follow duty roster and better patient care is guaranteed in the Sub-District hospital. He inspected the Wards, including, OPD, Emergency Wards, X-Ray Units and other sections of the hospital and reviewed their functioning.
Enroute, the DC met people of different villages who put forth their genuine issues. He heard them patiently and assured for quick redressal of the demands.
The DC was accompanied by various officers of MC, R&B, KPDCL, MED and others.
