DC Rajouri takes comprehensive review of RDD Sector works, schemes

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 10: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today conducted a comprehensive review of the Rural Development Department (RDD) sector works and schemes here at a meeting. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took the detailed review of the progress made under District Capex Budget, SSY, ABDP, APDP, MGNREGA, PMAY and Awas Plus, border bunkers etc.
While taking the review of the progress under the District Capex Budget the meeting was informed that a staggering 2897 out of 3015 works have been successfully completed, reflecting a robust execution of planned projects.
Under Samridh Seema Yojana (SSY), 180 out of 324 works have been completed, while under APDP, out of 42 works, 20 works have been completed. Similarly, under ABDP, out of 24 works, 17 works have been completed.
A key highlight of the review pertains to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), where an impressive 23,47,399 man-days have been generated to date.
While taking note of the progress of border bunkers, it was informed that out of 1892 bunkers, the work on 1603 bunkers have been completed.
Regarding the progress made under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and Awas Plus which have been pivotal in addressing housing needs in the district, the meeting was told that out of 62,341 houses sanctioned, 36810 houses have been completed.
Addressing the officers in the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for sustained momentum in implementing developmental schemes to ensure comprehensive and inclusive growth across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the significance of timely completion of projects as a crucial factor in maximizing the benefits derived from rural development initiatives. He highlighted the need for strict adherence to timelines, efficient utilization of funds, and close monitoring of project progress to ensure that all planned works are completed within the stipulated timeframes.
Overall, the comprehensive review served as a testament to the commitment of the District Administration to rural development, underscoring the positive impact of various schemes and initiatives on the lives of its residents.
