Anantnag, Sept 6: Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, today visited several flood-affected areas in Anantnag district, South Kashmir, to take stock of the situation and oversee relief operations.
During the visit, the CM interacted with local residents to understand their immediate needs and directed the district adminisatration to ensure prompt delivery of relief and rehabilitation measures, including supply of food, drinking water, medicines, and restoration of damaged infrastructure.
Omar Abdullah emphasised the importance of strengthening embankments and vulnerable flood-prone areas to prevent further damage and instructed officials to maintain close monitoring until normalcy is fully restored.
Officials highlighted that the visit underscores the government’s commitment to supporting flood-affected communities in South Kashmir and ensuring timely assistance reaches every affected family.
