Jammu, April 25,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Council at Lok Bhavan, Jammu, to deliberate on key reforms aimed at transforming the Union Territory’s education sector.
The meeting witnessed participation from senior officials, policymakers, and academic leaders, who discussed comprehensive strategies for driving holistic transformation in higher education across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the deliberations, the Council focused on strengthening institutional frameworks, improving quality standards, and aligning the education system with global benchmarks. Emphasis was laid on curriculum modernization, digital integration, research and innovation, and promoting skill-based learning to enhance student employability.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the importance of effectively implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, encouraging multidisciplinary education, and ensuring flexibility in academic pathways. He stressed that reforms must be outcome-oriented and aimed at preparing students for future challenges.
The Council also reviewed ongoing initiatives and explored measures to upgrade infrastructure, promote faculty development, and foster innovation-driven ecosystems within universities and colleges.
Reiterating the administration’s commitment, Manoj Sinha emphasized that a robust and future-ready education system is crucial for empowering youth and accelerating socio-economic development in Jammu and Kashmir.
