Baramulla’s Shamshada empowered 300 women by training in her boutique, gets mentioned by J&K LG

Today women in Jammu and Kashmir are themselves coming forward to lead the development, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. Talking about Self Help Groups, Shamshada Begum of Pattan, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir has taken the responsibility of technical training of women in her area. She has trained around 300 women in her boutique. With her strength, Shamshada Begum is building the ecosystem of women empowerment in Pattan, said the Lieutenant Governor. Apart from self enhancement, women are being given opportunities for advancement. According to Shamshada, most women have started their own business which is scaling new heights of success. In the true sense, efforts are on to make women power into national power, LG said. Entrepreneur Shamshada Begum says she is grateful to Kashmir Ahead for making her voice reach the Lieutenant Governor and the administration. She says women are working more in the market and field compared to men. Women do not find any work big or small. They just want to find work and move ahead in life. The women are giving a competition to the men. I think Kashmir is changing. It is no longer the Kashmir of yesteryears. Today, everyone wants to do work, wants to move ahead and earn a name, said entrepreneur Shamshada Begum.
