The inauguration of Government Polytechnic College, Islamic University of Science & Technology, Awantipora, Pulwama-IUST on September 8, 2022 is a good omen for Jammu & Kashmir, says Shabir Ahmad Bhat, a local resident. The Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon inaugurated the newly constructed Government Polytechnic College here in presence of Vice Chancellor (VC), Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo. The people will benefit, says Bashir Ahmad, local resident, especially the unemployed youth. The polytechnic will also boost hotels and car rental industry. Danish, a student of the polytechnic says, courses like electrical, mechanical and civil courses are being taught. This is a good opportunity to learn technically and practically, say students. A student Baljeet Singh Raina is happy that students from Awantipora and south Kashmir will get an opportunity to learn some skills. The polytechnic college will bring about the much needed development in the area, feel the locals. People will get benefitted and it will be a very good thing, the locals said.
