Trout fish pisciculture is flourishing in Jammu and Kashmir. Trout farming is becoming a booming business in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar. The Trout fish farming project in Kokernag is considered Asia’s biggest trout farm. The Trout fish seeds go to different states such as Vadodara, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. Lakhs of eggs were produced following breeding operation in March-April. Around 10 lakh eggs were collected and the hatching process is on.

Verinag is one spot abounding in natural beauty and is popularly called Gateway of Kashmir. It is a mere one-and-a-half kilometres from the first tunnel at the entry point of Kashmir valley. On the occasion of Jyestha Purnima, a Pratham Pooja was organised on Tuesday at the holy cave shrine of Lord Shiva, marking the beginning of annual Amarnath Yatra 2022 pilgrimage. Jyestha Purnima is one of the most pious days in Hindu religion. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, Nitishwar Kumar, along with office bearers of Shri Amarnath Yatri Trust participated in the pooja.
