Army constructs bridge in Audoora, improving access for locals

Baramulla, April 28,2026- In a significant boost to rural connectivity, the Indian Army has constructed a vital bridge in Audoora village in Baramulla, bringing long-awaited relief to local residents, especially students and farmers who had been struggling with limited access for years.

The newly built bridge spans a local stream that would often swell during rains, cutting off Audoora from nearby areas. With the completion of this project, daily commuting has become safer and faster, allowing schoolchildren to attend classes regularly and farmers to transport produce to markets without disruption.

Residents expressed gratitude, noting that earlier they had to take longer, risky routes or wait for water levels to recede. “This bridge has changed our lives. Our children can now go to school without fear, and we can carry our crops easily,” said a local farmer.

The initiative is part of the Army’s ongoing civic outreach efforts under its community development programs in Jammu and Kashmir. Such projects aim to strengthen ties with local populations while addressing critical infrastructure gaps in remote areas.

Officials highlighted that improved connectivity will not only enhance education and agriculture but also support emergency services and overall economic activity in the region.

The bridge stands as a symbol of cooperation and development, marking a positive step toward improving quality of life in rural parts of Baramulla.
