J&K LG Manoj Sinha reviews facilities and services for pilgrims at Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas

Jammu, July 15,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday reviewed the facilities and services being provided to pilgrims at Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas, the main base camp for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, ahead of their onward journey to the holy cave shrine.

During the visit, the Lieutenant Governor inspected various arrangements at the Yatri Niwas and assessed the preparedness of departments involved in ensuring a safe, comfortable and seamless pilgrimage. He reviewed accommodation, registration, security, sanitation, healthcare, drinking water, transportation, food distribution and other essential services available to the pilgrims.

Interacting with officials, Shri Manoj Sinha directed them to maintain the highest standards of pilgrim care and ensure that every yatri receives timely assistance throughout their stay at the base camp. He emphasized coordinated efforts among all stakeholder departments to provide efficient services and address any issues promptly.

The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with pilgrims at Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas, enquiring about their travel experience and the facilities being provided. Many devotees appreciated the arrangements made by the administration and expressed satisfaction with the security, cleanliness and support services available at the transit camp.

Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas serves as the primary departure point for pilgrims travelling to the twin routes of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra via Pahalgam and Baltal. Thousands of devotees pass through the base camp every day before proceeding to the holy cave shrine.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has put in place comprehensive arrangements, including multi-layer security, medical facilities, emergency response teams, sanitation measures and logistical support, to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
