Srinagar, July 1, 2026- As preparations intensify for the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026, langar services have been set up at Yatri Niwas in Srinagar to provide free meals and refreshments to pilgrims arriving for the annual pilgrimage. The initiative aims to ensure that devotees are well looked after before beginning their sacred journey to the Holy Cave Shrine.
Volunteers from various religious and social organisations are serving freshly prepared food, tea, drinking water, and other essential refreshments throughout the day. The langars are catering to hundreds of pilgrims, reflecting the spirit of selfless service (seva) that has long been associated with the Amarnath Yatra.
Pilgrims expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and arrangements, saying the free langar services offer much-needed comfort after long journeys. The initiative not only provides nourishment but also creates a welcoming atmosphere for devotees from different parts of the country.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration, in coordination with the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), has made comprehensive arrangements at Yatri Niwas, including accommodation, medical facilities, security, sanitation, and transport assistance to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage.
The Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 is scheduled to commence on July 3 via the traditional Pahalgam and Baltal routes, with thousands of pilgrims expected to participate in the 57-day annual pilgrimage to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani.
