Jammu, January 30,2026-The Annual ‘Idea to Impact’ Startup Mela was launched at the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Jammu, showcasing innovative ideas and entrepreneurial talent from across the Union Territory.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing young innovators by extending financial support to startups and incubators. The mela provided a dynamic platform for emerging entrepreneurs to present their business ideas, network with investors, and gain mentorship from industry experts.
During the event, the Chief Minister also inaugurated key infrastructure projects in Samba and Vijaypur, aimed at strengthening the startup ecosystem and supporting economic growth in the region. These initiatives are expected to enhance industrial capacity, improve connectivity, and create employment opportunities for local youth.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Omar Abdullah emphasized the importance of innovation-driven development and encouraged young entrepreneurs to convert ideas into impactful ventures. He highlighted the role of institutions like JKEDI in promoting entrepreneurship, skill development, and self-reliance among the youth.
The Startup Mela witnessed participation from startups, incubators, financial institutions, and government agencies, reflecting the growing momentum of the startup ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
