Reasi, January 21,2026- Reasi district has achieved a major milestone under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G), with the completion of over 29,000 rural houses against a sanctioned target of 29,646, reflecting steady progress towards the goal of Housing for All.
According to official figures, the district administration has successfully ensured timely construction and delivery of pucca houses to eligible beneficiaries, significantly improving living conditions in rural and remote areas. The achievement underscores the effective implementation of the flagship central government housing scheme in the district.
In a further boost to the housing initiative, the administration has identified more than 30,000 additional eligible families through a recent survey. These families are expected to be covered in the coming phases of the scheme, reaffirming the district’s commitment to inclusive development and social welfare.
Officials said that focused monitoring, streamlined beneficiary identification, and coordinated efforts at the grassroots level have played a key role in accelerating construction and meeting targets. The scheme has not only provided safe and durable housing but has also generated local employment and strengthened rural infrastructure.
