Jammu, January 15,2026-Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Thursday flagged off the Jammu and Kashmir tableau contingent for the Republic Day Parade–2026 from Jammu, marking a significant moment of pride for the Union Territory. The tableau will represent J&K at the national celebrations to be held at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, on January 26.
The tableau is designed to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting its centuries-old handicrafts, vibrant folk traditions and the region’s unique artistic legacy. Through a blend of traditional motifs, colourful costumes and live cultural presentations, the tableau aims to present a vivid glimpse of the Union Territory’s diverse cultural identity to the national and international audience.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary congratulated the artists, designers and officials associated with the tableau, noting that Republic Day provides an important platform to reflect India’s unity in diversity. He said the participation of Jammu and Kashmir in the parade symbolises the region’s cultural richness, creativity and its integral place in the national fabric.
Officials from the administration informed that special emphasis has been laid on indigenous crafts, folk music and dance forms, depicting the harmonious coexistence of different regions and communities of J&K. The tableau has been prepared after extensive coordination between cultural departments, artists and technical teams to ensure authenticity and visual appeal.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by senior civil and police officials, cultural artists and members of the tableau team, who expressed pride in representing Jammu and Kashmir on the country’s most prestigious ceremonial platform.
