Kashmir, January 14,2026-Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Tuesday described the Union Territory’s rich spiritual heritage as a dynamic and living asset, playing a vital role in fostering social harmony, cultural continuity, and inclusive development.
Addressing a gathering at a spiritual and cultural event, the Lieutenant Governor said that Jammu and Kashmir has, for centuries, been a confluence of diverse faiths, philosophies, and traditions. He emphasized that this spiritual legacy continues to guide society by promoting values such as peace, compassion, tolerance, and mutual respect.
“Jammu and Kashmir’s spiritual heritage is not merely a reflection of the past; it is a dynamic force that shapes our present and future. It strengthens social bonds and inspires collective progress,” LG Sinha said.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the contributions of saints, sages, and spiritual leaders who have enriched the region’s cultural fabric and played a key role in nurturing unity and harmony among communities. He noted that preserving and promoting this heritage is essential for strengthening the region’s identity and passing on timeless values to future generations.
LG Sinha also underscored the potential of spiritual and heritage tourism in boosting the local economy and creating livelihood opportunities, particularly for youth. He said the administration is committed to conserving religious and cultural sites while ensuring sustainable development.
Reaffirming the government’s resolve, the Lieutenant Governor stated that initiatives are being taken to protect heritage sites, promote interfaith dialogue, and encourage community participation in cultural preservation.
He called upon the people, especially the younger generation, to draw inspiration from J&K’s spiritual traditions and contribute positively towards peace, development, and nation-building.
The event witnessed the participation of spiritual leaders, scholars, and citizens from various parts of the Union Territory, reflecting the enduring significance of Jammu and Kashmir’s pluralistic and spiritual ethos.
