Anantnag, December 4, 2025 – Municipal Council Anantnag has received 500 new registrations under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana -Urban Phase II, giving a significant boost to the ‘Housing for All’ mission. This milestone reflects the growing awareness and participation of citizens in government-led affordable housing initiatives.
The registrations cover a range of beneficiaries eligible for subsidised housing loans and financial assistance under PMAY-Urban. Officials highlighted that the initiative aims to provide safe, affordable, and sustainable housing to urban residents, particularly those from economically weaker sections (EWS) and low-income groups .
Municipal authorities emphasised that the increased registrations will accelerate the construction and allocation of housing units, contributing to the broader objective of ensuring housing security and improved living standards for all urban dwellers in Anantnag.
