Jammu, J&K | November 11, 2025-Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, conducted an on-site inspection of the Tawi Barrage and Riverfront Development Projects in Jammu, reviewing the pace and quality of ongoing works. He directed officials to ensure expeditious completion, strict quality monitoring, and seamless inter-agency coordination to meet project timelines.
Terming both projects vital for Jammu’s urban transformation, Dulloo emphasised that the Tawi Barrage will play a crucial role in flood management, water conservation, and tourism promotion, while the Riverfront Project will enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal, recreational infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.
The Chief Secretary urged executing agencies to adopt a time-bound approach and ensure the use of high-quality materials in all construction components. He also reviewed progress on landscaping, lighting, and public amenities planned under the riverfront beautification initiative.
Officials from the Irrigation & Flood Control Department, Housing & Urban Development Department, and Jammu Smart City Limited briefed Dulloo about the current status and milestones achieved so far.
Dulloo reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming Jammu into a model urban centre, integrating modern infrastructure with ecological balance and citizen-friendly spaces.
