Kashmir, October 30,2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only abrogated Article 370 but has also wiped out terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir, paving the way for peace, progress, and development in the Union Territory.
Speaking at a public event, Shah said that the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019 marked a turning point in J&K’s history, integrating the region fully with the rest of India and ending decades of separatism and violence.
“Prime Minister Modi erased Article 370 and with it the roots of terrorism that had plagued Jammu and Kashmir for decades. Today, the youth of J&K are talking about education, employment, and entrepreneurship — not extremism,” Shah said.
The Home Minister highlighted how the BJP-led government’s policies have transformed the ground situation in the Union Territory, citing improvements in tourism, infrastructure, and investment climate. He added that record numbers of tourists visiting Kashmir and the decline in militant incidents reflect the return of normalcy.
Amit Shah reiterated that the Centre’s vision is to make J&K a symbol of peace and prosperity, ensuring equal opportunities for all sections of society.
The statement comes as the government continues to emphasize its success in restoring stability and mainstream development in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.
