Reasi, October 30,2025: In a significant step towards child welfare and protection, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik , inaugurated a 24×7 Child Helpdesk at the Bus Stand, Reasi under the Mission Vatsalya initiative.
The helpdesk aims to provide immediate assistance, counseling, and rehabilitation support to children in distress, lost, or in need of care and protection. It will function round-the-clock to ensure timely intervention and safety for vulnerable children across the district.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Nidhi Malik emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for every child. She highlighted that the helpdesk will serve as a vital link between children, local authorities, and child protection units, ensuring quick response and effective coordination.
Officials from the District Child Protection Unit, representatives of the Police Department, and members of civil society were present at the inauguration.
The initiative under Mission Vatsalya reflects the administration’s focus on strengthening child protection mechanisms and promoting child rights, welfare, and rehabilitation across Jammu and Kashmir.
