India–Russia Cultural Ties | Lord Buddha’s Sacred Relics Unite India, Kalmykia & Russia | LG Sinha The Indian delegation that had gone with the sacred relics of Lord Buddha to Kalmikya, Russia has returned, announced the Lieutenant Goivernor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. The holy relics of Gautam Buddha in a rare moment were taken out for exposition abroad. It is true that this three-day journey was very short, but the kind of enthusiasm and faith the common citizens of Kalmikya have in Lord Buddha and his teachings is amazing and unforgettable, LG shared. This Kalmikya visit holds a significant impact on the two countries’ historical and spiritual relations. One fact that needs to be known is that every fifth person visited the relics of Lord Buddha and sought blessings, LG said. And as we left the Golden Abode of Shakyamuni Buddha carrying these relics, a large number of men, women, young and old were standing on both sides of the road to express their devotion. I believe that this effort of the Ministry of Culture of India to further advance the cultural relations between India, Kalmykia and Russia, with the support of the National Museum and the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) will prove to be a milestone. And I believe that the teachings of Lord Buddha will provide the best path and the most appropriate education to solve the challenges of the present world, said the Lieutenant Governor.
