Doda, October 4,2025: The Meteorological Department Jammu and Kashmir has issued an advisory forecasting rain and snowfall in Doda district from October 4 to 6. In response, the district administration Doda has been placed on high alert to tackle any possible emergencies arising from adverse weather conditions.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, urged residents to remain vigilant and strictly avoid flood-prone and landslide-prone areas, particularly during heavy rainfall. He further advised people to stay away from rivers, streams, and other vulnerable water bodies to ensure their safety.
Special instructions were issued for nomadic families camping in the district, asking them not to set up camps near riverbanks or low-lying areas. The DC also directed that pregnant women be shifted to safer locations in advance to avoid last-minute emergencies.
The administration has activated control rooms, deployed disaster response teams, and kept health and emergency services on standby. Locals have been requested to cooperate with authorities and adhere to the guidelines issued to minimise risks during the expected rainfall and snowfall in Doda.
The precautionary measures are aimed at safeguarding lives and preventing untoward incidents as the region braces for three days of inclement weather.
