Kupwara , July 30, 2025-In the aftermath of a tragic bus overturn incident in Behnipora Rajwar, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara paid a visit to the Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara to review the medical care being provided to the injured.
The accident, which took place in the Rajwar area of Handwara district, resulted in multiple injuries and sparked a swift response from both local residents and district authorities. As part of the administration’s emergency response, medical teams were mobilised, and the injured were transported to GMC Handwara for urgent treatment.
During his visit, the DC Kupwara interacted with the injured individuals and their families, assuring them of all possible assistance. He also directed hospital authorities to ensure round-the-clock medical attention and stressed the need for maintaining adequate emergency facilities at the hospital.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by senior health officials and representatives from the district disaster management unit. He emphasised the importance of swift coordination among departments in dealing with such road accidents and providing timely relief to the victims.
The administration continues to monitor the situation closely, while authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident. The district has also appealed to drivers and transport operators to follow safety protocols to prevent such tragedies in the future.
