Srinagar, May 15, 2025: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, today, accompanied by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, to assess the region’s security situation following recent developments. The visit, the first since Operation Sindoor, underscores the government’s focus on ensuring stability and combat readiness in the region.
Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit the 15 Corps Headquarters and Srinagar Air Force Station, where he will meet Indian Army personnel and review security arrangements. The trip comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed 26 lives, prompting heightened military measures and a ceasefire agreement with Pakistan. Addressing soldiers at Badami Bagh Cantonment, Singh emphasised the armed forces’ role in safeguarding national sovereignty.
The visit aligns with ongoing efforts to restore normalcy, as evidenced by the reopening of schools across Jammu, bringing joy and hope to students and communities. Classrooms are alive again, marking a bright start for young minds and signalling the region’s resilience.
