REASI, JANUARY 14:SANKALP-Hub for Empowerment of Women, Reasi, in collaboration with Mission Poshan, organized a significant awareness event under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme at Panchayat Bathoie in Tehsil & Block Mahore. The event was held under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer, Sachin Sharma.
The program focused on creating awareness about crucial issues such as menstrual hygiene and women’s welfare. The Health and Education Workers team distributed Menstrual Hygiene Kits to adolescent girls, promoting awareness on Menstrual Hygiene Management. This initiative is part of a broader effort to drive behavior change related to sanitation and hygiene practices in rural areas.
In addition, mothers and their baby daughters were felicitated, with the presence of their grandparents, to celebrate the importance of family support in ensuring the well-being of young girls.
The program also included an informative session for parents on the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, emphasizing the importance of securing a bright future for their daughters. Attendees were provided with detailed information about various women-centric schemes available at the district level, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, One Stop Centre, Pension Schemes, State Marriage Assistance Scheme for underprivileged girls, and skill development opportunities through the SBI Rural Skill Employment Training Institute and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
The program concluded with a commitment to conducting similar awareness camps regularly to further empower women and ensure the well-being of young girls in the region.
