Srinagar, September 12,2025: The Cyber Police Kashmir has issued an advisory warning the public about a fraudulent online investment platform named Zupedia, which is luring unsuspecting users with false promises of quick and high returns.
According to officials, several complaints have been received where victims were tricked into investing money on the Zupedia platform, only to lose their hard-earned savings. The fraudsters reportedly target youth by promoting the scheme through social media, WhatsApp groups, and fake referrals, projecting it as a legitimate way to earn easy income.
The J&K Cyber Police emphasised that such get-rich-quick schemes are classic online scams designed to exploit financial aspirations and lack of digital awareness. Authorities have urged people to remain cautious, avoid sharing personal banking details, and refrain from investing in any platform without proper verification.
“Citizens must stay alert. If you come across such suspicious investment schemes, immediately report to the Cyber Police Kashmir or contact the National Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930,” an official spokesperson said.
The advisory highlights the growing threat of cybercrime in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly financial frauds exploiting digital platforms. The Cyber Police reiterated its commitment to safeguarding people against rising cases of online fraud, phishing scams, and fake investment traps.
