Srinagar, July 8, 2025- The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 has seen a surge in youth participation, with an increasing number of young boys and girls from across the country embarking on the sacred pilgrimage to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani. This growing enthusiasm among the youth has brought new energy and spiritual vibrance to the centuries-old tradition.
Pilgrims are full of praise for the exemplary arrangements made by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and paramilitary forces such as the CRPF and BSF, who are working tirelessly to ensure a safe and seamless Yatra experience for lakhs of devotees.
Speaking to reporters near the Pahalgam base camp, a young female devotee from Uttar Pradesh shared her profound experience, comparing the Yatra to the grand Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
“I have attended the Maha Kumbh, but coming here to Baba Barfani’s darshan is something truly divine. The arrangements here are incredible. I urge everyone who has been to Prayagraj to also come here at least once. The security is tight, the soldiers are dedicated, and the entire atmosphere is full of peace and devotion,” she said with folded hands.
Thousands of pilgrims echo similar sentiments, particularly about the visible, vigilant, and compassionate presence of security personnel deployed along the Baltal and Pahalgam axes. From managing crowd movement to assisting elderly and vulnerable pilgrims, the role of the forces has been widely appreciated.
Many young first-time visitors said they had previously held fears about the security situation in Kashmir, but those concerns have now been put to rest.
“We were unsure before coming, but what we’ve seen here has amazed us. The Army, CRPF, and local police are stationed every few hundred meters, even in the scorching sun and biting cold. Their dedication is inspiring,” said a group of engineering students from Maharashtra.
This year’s Yatra is being managed with multi-tier security layers, advanced surveillance, RFID tracking, and biometric registration, all contributing to a well-coordinated pilgrimage. Medical aid stations, langars, and rest facilities are functioning efficiently with the support of civil administration and volunteers.
Officials from the Jammu and Kashmir administration have confirmed that the rising number of youth participants is a welcome sign of growing national faith and unity. They credit the coordinated efforts of security forces, administration, and local communities for making the 2025 Yatra one of the most secure and well-attended in recent history.
As the Yatra progresses, the chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bam Bam Bhole” continue to resonate through the Himalayas, reflecting a journey that is not only spiritual but also symbolic of a united and resilient India.
