What happens when a woman joins a Self Help Group for 30 days . Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is helping Jammu & Kashmir women achieve livelihood goals in convergence with JKNRLM (UMEED). Women in Udhampur District are gaining empowerment through government schemes such as Self Help Groups through National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme. Through tile making and pickle making units, Udhampur women are becoming self reliant and economuically independent.
