Panchayat Halqa Block Lar in District Ganderbal of Jammu & Kashmir has become an open defecation free village. Shafia Javed, Sarpanch Bhatpura says, there has been a lot of development after the Panchayat system getting established here. We are grateful to the government as we did not expect so much development. A local resident Shauket Ahmed says, this is a very good step of the government as everyone benefits from it. Earlier we used to keep going to the Patwaris, our slippers used to get worn out. After that also, our work was never completely done. Jahangir, another local resident says, we had to go after people to pay fees. With the launch of the Land Pass Book by the Chief Secretary J&K, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta IAS on 14-01-2022, the villagers can get work related to land matters done conveniently. Khurshid Ahmad, another local resident says, some people had usurped the government land and made buildings, hotels, etc which were brought down and the land has been seized by the government. Abdul Aziz, another local resident and attendant of a patient in the district hospital Poonch said, with the construction of the hospital, now they can get their sick ones admitted here and that is a big relief.
