Verinag natural spring: Gateway of Kashmir, a must on the tourist map

Verinag is one spot abounding in natural beauty and is popularly called Gateway of Kashmir. It is a mere one-and-a-half kilometres from the first tunnel at the entry point of Kashmir valley. It is also the first tourist spot for road travelers from Jammu. The town is named after the famous Verinag spring and Mughal garden in Anantnag district. The water and scenery is stunning and the locals plead that Verinag must be placed on the tourist map. Verinag is 26km away from Anantnag and approximately 78km south-east from Srinagar.
