Udhampur celebrates 150 years of “Vande Mataram” with patriotic fervour

Udhampur, March 23,2026- A wave of patriotism swept through Udhampur as the district marked 150 years of Vande Mataram with the launch of week-long celebrations honouring India’s rich freedom legacy and cultural pride.

The commemorative events began with heartfelt tributes to freedom fighters who played a pivotal role in India’s independence movement. Floral offerings and remembrance ceremonies were held at key locations, with officials, students, and citizens մասնակցating in large numbers to pay homage to the nation’s heroes.

Educational institutions across the district organized cultural programs, including patriotic songs, skits, and recitations centered around Vande Mataram, inspiring students to connect with the spirit of nationalism and sacrifice. The performances highlighted the historical significance of the iconic song and its role in uniting Indians during the struggle for independence.

In a moving gesture, families of martyrs were also honoured during the opening समारोह.
