Srinagar, December 30,2025-Tourism in Kashmir is steadily returning to normalcy, with a visible surge in tourist arrivals and renewed confidence among visitors, Director Tourism Kashmir said on Monday. He stated that the Valley is once again emerging as a preferred destination for domestic and international tourists, reflecting improved security conditions and sustained efforts by the administration.
Speaking on the revival, the Director Tourism said that increased footfall at major tourist destinations such as Dal Lake, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg is a clear indicator that Kashmir’s tourism sector is back on track. Houseboats, hotels, and transport services are witnessing healthy occupancy, especially during the winter season.
“The return of tourists is a positive sign for the local economy. Tourism provides livelihood to thousands of families in Kashmir, and its revival marks a new phase of growth and stability,” he said, adding that the government is continuously working to enhance infrastructure, hospitality services, and tourist safety.
He further highlighted that festivals, winter carnivals, adventure tourism activities, and promotional campaigns are playing a crucial role in attracting visitors and showcasing Kashmir as a peaceful, vibrant, and welcoming destination.
The Director Tourism expressed optimism that with sustained peace and proactive policies, Kashmir’s tourism sector will continue to grow, creating employment opportunities and contributing significantly to the region’s economic development.
