Teetwal Mela 2022 – Kashmir Ahead
In the last two years, the tourism department has taken a lot of initiatives to boost tourism. Dr G N Itoo, Director Tourism Kashmir says, our focus is also to promote border tourism. A Border Tourism Festival was organised at Teetwal on September 7, 2022. People should experience the tourism potential of border locales, said Director Tourism. Doifode Sagar Dattatray, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara said, as per instructions from the LG government we have to boost those places which have greater tourism potential. This is the first time a border tourism festival is being organised at Teetwal.
A tourist Jyotsna Naik experiencing the border tourism festival says, I am feeling very nice after coming here. We think the atmosphere is not peaceful here but it is not so. The local people are very nice and helpful. Ami Panchal, another tourist is of the view that people should come here as there are soldiers in every home, so you will be safe. Another tourist Stuti Shah says, it feels like coming home. It is nice to see people mixing with each other and talking and taking pictures. Apart from the South, East and West, places like these border spots in the North are worth visiting.
