Sugra Barkati fights for her jailed parents

In the heart of Beerwah constituency, we have witnessed an overwhelming response from every parent and sister of the youth. Their unwavering support has been our strength, and for that, we are deeply grateful. The people of Beerwah stand with us in this journey, a unity we could have never imagined. When we set out on this path, it wasn’t part of a grand plan; it was a necessity born out of a desire for justice. Our singular aim has always been to secure the release of my parents from jail, along with the countless youth of Kashmir who find themselves behind bars. This struggle is not just personal but a reflection of the broader challenges our youth face. We chose Beerwah for a reason that is close to our hearts. My Baba, who has always had a deep connection with this region, spoke often about the people of Beerwah. He would say that they are selective and discerning, which is why we felt this was the right place to take our stand. And true to his words, the response has been nothing short of incredible. In our eyes, all political parties are the same, and our appeal has been to the people directly. We have asked for their help, knowing that the people of Beerwah would understand our cause and support us. There’s a deep hope within us that the story of a youth, like ours, resonates with them, and we place our faith in Allah for the outcome. When we initially went to file our nomination, we hoped for the support of Engineer Rashid Saab, but when it didn’t come, we turned to the people, to and their warmth and solidarity have been overwhelming. We cannot express enough gratitude for the way they embraced our cause. The rally led by Sugra Barkati in Beerwah is a testament to this collective voice. Sugra’s leadership, along with the tireless efforts of many like her, has galvanised the people into action. The energy at the rally reflected not only a shared struggle but also a shared hope. It has become clear that the people of Beerwah are not just spectators; they are active participants in shaping the future of their youth. As we move forward, we believe that our cause, driven by the youth’s passion and the elder’s wisdom, will find the support it deserves. Victory and loss are in Allah’s hands, but the solidarity of Beerwah is already a victory for us.
