Srinagar, May 23, 2025: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has announced new school timings across the Kashmir Valley, effective from May 26, in response to the ongoing heatwave. Schools within Srinagar’s municipal limits will now operate from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, while those outside the municipal boundaries will function from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The order applies to all government and recognized private schools in the region. Currently, schools in Srinagar city start at 9:00 AM, and those outside municipal limits begin at 9:30 AM. Authorities have mandated strict adherence to the revised schedule to ensure student safety and comfort during the prevailing high temperatures.
