Srinagar, January 22,2026- Ahead of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, Srinagar Police has intensified security and checking measures across the city to ensure a peaceful, safe, and incident-free observance of the national event.
As part of the enhanced security grid, police personnel have been deployed at strategic locations across Srinagar. Special checkpoints and mobile patrols have been established, where thorough checking of vehicles and individuals is being carried out. In addition, night patrols and surprise inspections are underway to maintain heightened vigilance and deter any attempt to disrupt public order.
Authorities said additional deployments have been made in sensitive areas, with a special focus on monitoring suspicious movements. Senior police officers are personally supervising the arrangements to ensure effective and seamless implementation of the security plan.
Srinagar Police has appealed to the general public to cooperate during checking and verification processes and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or the Police Control Room.
Reiterating its commitment, Srinagar Police said it remains steadfast in safeguarding the lives and property of citizens and ensuring that Republic Day is celebrated in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and patriotism.
