Sonamarg Authority Initiates 1st Ice Skating Event| Inspires Youth to Start The Year with Wellness For the first time a skating event has been organised in Kashmir’s Sonamarg, said a female participant. We felt happy to see the event. The Sonamarg Development Authority initiated the inaugural Ice Skating Event inspiring the local youth to glide into New Year adventures. Many boys from Sonamarg joined skating and learnt the sport within four days. I too participated in the event, the female skater added. I had a nice experience learning skating from our coach. The Sonamarg Development Authority organised this ice skating programme. I am so happy to participate in the first skating event of Sonamarg. Usually skating happens in Gulmarg. We all should together try to organise good events in the coming days so that the locals and children here get support, said a Sonamarg resident. I do ice skating and roller skating and I have played in district and national championships, informed, a young female experienced skater from Sonamarg. I want to give this message to the youth that make a new beginning in this New Year. There are so many good new sports, you must participate in one so that your whole year goes well. There are many girls who do not participate in skating. Do join this sport, there is a lot of scope and the youth here have a lot of potential and they can do better, said the experienced female skater at Sonamarg skating rink.
