I am extremely happy that today a new chapter is being added to the holistic well-being and empowerment of the youth of the Sikh Community with the inauguration of the Sikh Cricket Premier League, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha during inauguration of the first edition of Sikh Cricket Premier League in Jammu. Guru Nanak ji had said that our mind should be in devotion to God and our hands should be engaged in fulfilling our duties. Following the spirit of duty and the philosophy inherent in us, all the officials of the Sikh Coordination Committee along with their colleagues are continuously engaged in the welfare and empowerment of the Sikh Community, LG shared. I believe that the organisation of Sikh Cricket Premier League will bring a change in the lives of Sikh youth, will instill hope in them and will also awaken confidence in them, LG said. I had gone to a small village Gurha Slathiya where the youth along with one Army Retired Officer changed not just the fate of that village but the picture of that entire area. Be it campaign against drug addiction, skill development, coaching, library, indoor gym or outdoor gym. And many boys from that village are in the army and many retired generals and officers are there. Many martyred army officers are also from there. Half the population is working in the army. Today, the country is changing. Today, India has emerged as a superpower of the world in the innovation sector. And according to the world ranking, it has also become the most active and powerful country in shaping the global economy of the world. Today we have the third largest startup ecosystem in the world. Today India is the youngest country and sixty-five percent of the population is below 35 years of age. Due to the participation of previous young entrepreneurs, the scope of middle class has also increased in the country due to the efforts of the youth. Around 31% of the country’s population has transformed into the middle class. The largest base of mobile phone users today is in our country. The total population connected to the Internet has increased to 627 million and if I put it in other words, the number of people connected to the Internet is almost two million more than the population of America. India is today number one in the world in digital payments. Nearly forty-six percent of the world’s digital transactions are taking place in India today. Jammu and Kashmir is also much ahead in digital transactions compared to other states of the country, LG shared. India has become the largest consumer of internet data in the world. Indians are consuming around 20 GB data every month and in Jammu and kashmir consumption of data is around 22%, the Lieutenant Governor said.
