Shahid Muzafar Mugloo: Taking Skydiving to New Heights in Jammu and Kashmir

The breathtaking beauty of Jammu and Kashmir can now be explored from the sky. Shahid Muzafar Mugloo, a young man from Srinagar, has taken an important step towards promoting skydiving in the region by completing his skydiving licence course in Russia. Shahid completed his schooling at Army Public School, Pahalgam, and pursued his undergraduate studies in Pune. He recently earned his USPA A skydiving licence after completing 31 jumps at different drop zones in Russia under the guidance of experienced instructors. With the support of his family, he turned his long-standing passion into reality. Shahid believes that skydiving is not just an adventurous sport but also a promising career opportunity. People can work as coaches, instructors, base jumpers, and wingsuit flyers. He hopes to introduce this exciting sport to Jammu and Kashmir, where it could significantly boost adventure tourism. Moreover, developing skydiving facilities could create employment opportunities for local youth and encourage them to pursue careers beyond traditional fields. However, proper training, modern equipment, safety measures, and government support are essential for its success. Shahid’s journey from software engineering to skydiving demonstrates the power of passion and determination. His vision could open new horizons for tourism, employment, and adventure sports in Jammu and Kashmir.
