Katra, December 31,2025-Security arrangements have been significantly intensified along the Katra–Mata Vaishno Devi route ahead of the New Year, as a large influx of pilgrims and tourists is expected at the holy shrine. Additional deployment of security forces has been made to ensure the safety, security, and smooth movement of devotees undertaking the yatra.
Senior officials said that multi-layered security measures are in place, including increased patrolling, strengthened checkpoints, and enhanced surveillance along the entire pilgrimage route. Quick Response Teams (QRTs), bomb disposal squads, and sniffer dogs have also been positioned at key locations to prevent any untoward incident.
The administration, in coordination with the Shrine Board and security agencies, has also focused on crowd management, traffic regulation, and emergency preparedness to facilitate a hassle-free pilgrimage experience. CCTV monitoring has been intensified, while medical teams and disaster response units remain on standby.
Authorities have urged pilgrims and tourists to cooperate with security personnel, follow prescribed guidelines, and plan their visit in advance to avoid congestion during peak New Year days.
