Rajouri, September 12:The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Friday carried out a full-scale mock drill at Manwar Tawi in Rajouri to enhance disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
The exercise focused on rescue operations, evacuation drills, and inter-agency coordination, aimed at testing the readiness of various departments in dealing with natural calamities such as floods and landslides.
Personnel demonstrated swift action in simulated scenarios, including rescuing stranded individuals, providing first aid, and relocating affected families to safer zones. The drill also highlighted the importance of seamless coordination between SDRF, district administration, health services, police, and other emergency stakeholders.
Officials said the initiative will go a long way in reinforcing community safety and disaster risk reduction strategies in the region, which is vulnerable to flash floods and related hazards.
The mock drill was observed by senior officers, disaster management experts, and local representatives, who appreciated the proactive measures taken to ensure public safety.
