Residents of Samba Join ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Drive to Clean Samba Fort Heritage on World Tourism Day

The Department of Tourism, District Administration Samba celebrated ‘World Tourism Day’ at Samba Fort. The administration decided to clean up parts of Samba Fort to increase its heritage value. Officials said it is also a message to all visitors to support in maintaining the heritage monuments in Samba and Jammu & Kashmir, in particular maintaining cleanliness of the water bodies here. The aim is to pass on a clean heritage to the next generation so that they are proud of it, officials said. Samba citizens gathered in good numbers to take the oath of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’. Around 1000 people participated in the cleanliness initiative. As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, we are celebrating October 2nd, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi as Swachh 2nd October. The drive has begun from September 15 and the intention is to make every home follow the Swachhata mission. The PM implored everyone to undertake some action towards Swachhata. Become a partner in the mission by working hard yourself, the PM said.
