Ramban Flash Floods Claim 3 Lives; DC Praises Public Alertness, Vows Swift Relief & Compensation Sudden heavy rains lashed Ramban district in Jammu & Kashmir in the night leading to floods around 3 am. A lot of debris had accumulated. When we came to know about the situation, the guest customers were rescued safely. Locals were also informed those who come to the river bank with their goods and cattle, not to come near the river. Three lives were lost in this disaster, Baseer-ul-Haq DC Ramban said. He expressed his grief and said, I stand with those families in this moment of grief. We have warned everyone in this area not to venture out of their homes. Those who plan to take the train to Banihal must not do so, said a rescue team member. The flood relief victims were provided juice, biscuits and fruits. The Lieutenant Government administration has given us clear instructions to do the rescue and reliedf operations fast.and people should be given maximum relief, DC added. Whatever compensation is due under the law will be given to them. DC Ramban said. The people of Ramban showed great mental alertness when advisory was issued by the government and helped us in saving many lives.
