Srinagar, September 09: The Meteorological Department (MeT) has forecast rain and thunderstorms across several parts of Kashmir Valley till September 12. According to the MeT, intermittent showers accompanied by thunder and lightning are likely to occur, particularly during late afternoon and evening hours.
The weather office has cautioned that the spell of rainfall may lead to temporary waterlogging in low-lying areas and disruption of traffic on hilly roads. Travelers and commuters have been advised to remain alert, especially in vulnerable regions prone to landslides and shooting stones.
While the wet spell is expected to bring respite from the dry weather, the MeT also noted a slight dip in day temperatures across the valley. Farmers have been urged to take precautionary measures to safeguard standing crops during the period of unstable weather.
Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation, ensuring that necessary advisories are issued to avoid inconvenience to the public.
