Kashmir, July 7, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the BRICS Summit 2025 held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, alongside fellow leaders from Brazil, Russia, China, and South Africa. The high-level summit focused on strengthening multilateral cooperation, economic partnerships, and sustainable global development among member nations.
PM Narendra Modi emphasised India’s commitment to inclusive growth, digital transformation, and global south cooperation, reiterating the importance of multilateralism and respect for international law. He also called for deeper collaboration in areas such as climate change mitigation, supply chain resilience, counter-terrorism, and technological innovation.
The leaders jointly addressed pressing global challenges, including the need for reforming global financial institutions, enhancing trade among BRICS nations, and expanding cooperation in energy security, healthcare, and education.
On the sidelines, PM Narendra Modi also held bilateral discussions with several counterparts, exploring opportunities for strategic partnerships and trade expansion.
India’s participation at the BRICS Summit reinforces its global leadership role and commitment to peace, stability, and development in the Global South. The summit concluded with the adoption of the Rio Declaration, outlining key areas of cooperation and future action plans.
