Kashmir, July 16 — Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, addressed a thought-provoking seminar on “J&K’s March Towards Peace” at Gandhi Smriti, Delhi, as part of a special lecture series inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy.
Speaking at the event, Manoj Sinha emphasized that Pujya Bapu’s ideals of truth, non-violence, and compassion remain the guiding force for Jammu and Kashmir. “Our education system is actively inculcating these timeless values among the youth, shaping a society anchored in unity and peace,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor acknowledged the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, crediting him for realizing Gandhiji’s dream. “Since 2019, under the Prime Minister’s leadership, J&K is being transformed into a fear-free, terror-free Union Territory, steadily moving towards becoming a symbol of peace, unity, and development,” said Manoj Sinha.
He also spoke about the month-long Peace March organized every year in the Kashmir Valley to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, calling it a powerful reflection of J&K reclaiming its identity as a land of peace. “The youth of J&K now recognize that the J&K of Bapu’s dreams is a J&K of harmony and brotherhood,” he remarked.
Manoj Sinha didn’t mince words when condemning Pakistan, referring to it as a terrorist nation that repeatedly attempts to hurt the soul of India and its cultural-spiritual ethos. He cited the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack as a failed attempt to stall the economic progress of the Union Territory, asserting, “We are marching ahead with renewed strength and unwavering resolve.”
The seminar concluded with a resounding commitment that Jammu and Kashmir will persist on its path of peace, progress, and development, embracing Mahatma Gandhi’s vision while standing resilient against all forces trying to disrupt its harmony.
