Saffron farmer Irshad Dar Ahmad has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the release of the latest PM-KISAN instalment on October 30. Speaking about the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, Dar said the annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 provides valuable support to small farmers in managing agricultural expenses. He explained that the amount helps cultivators purchase essential farming inputs such as seeds and fertilisers. He also highlighted the importance of the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) facility, through which he received a loan of ₹1.60 lakh to meet agricultural requirements. According to Dar, the financial assistance helps farmers manage their expenses and financial commitments without adding significant pressure to their household budgets. The PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible farmer families with ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). For saffron-growing families in Pampore, where agriculture remains an important source of livelihood, such financial assistance can provide additional support for sustaining farming activities. Dar said he was happy to receive the latest instalment and thanked the Prime Minister for the continued support to farmers.
