Kashmir , January 7,2026-Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, on Tuesday reviewed the progress of various schemes under the Agriculture and Allied Sectors, emphasising effective implementation to maximise benefits for farmers across the district.
During the review meeting, the DC directed concerned officers to ensure that all PM-KISAN beneficiaries have active Kisan Credit Card (KCC) accounts, highlighting the role of institutional credit in strengthening farmers’ livelihoods. He stressed the need to remove bottlenecks in account activation and improve coordination with banks.
Minga Sherpa also called for focused, sector-wise action plans to enhance the implementation of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and allied sector schemes. He urged officers to intensify field-level monitoring and outreach to ensure timely delivery of benefits.
The DC underlined that strengthening Agriculture and Allied Sectors is crucial for rural employment and economic growth in Baramulla district. He asked departments to work in convergence mode and maintain regular progress reviews to achieve tangible outcomes for farmers.
Officials briefed the DC on the current status of schemes, challenges faced on the ground, and steps being taken to improve coverage and effectiveness.
